Massive Singapore Airline Sale On Reward Seats + Cash Fares!
Hey friends,
Apologies for the slightly delayed post for this weeks newsletter. In last week’s post I talked about the best ways we can accumulate Krisflyer points here in Australia, and it seems it was pretty good timing as today Singapore Airline announced its KrisFlyer Global Redemption Sale!
From now till 22 September 2024, enjoy 25% off Saver award tickets to all Singapore Airlines destinations on Economy class, and selected Singapore Airlines destinations on Business and Premium Economy class. Valid for travel from 15 January to 29 May 2025.
There are black out dates and destinations where this promo won’t apply, to see a full breakdown you can head to the promo website here - Krisflyer Global Redemption Sale
I’ll be travelling to Phuket for a wedding next year in February so this sale comes at an excellent time for me! When searching for flights, you’ll be able to see which flights have the promo applied, you can see an example of that in the image below.
Aside from the sale for award seat redemptions, Singapore Airlines are also running an Early Bird Fares sale to multiple destinations across Asia and Europe for cash fares.
With the pricing of some of these flights, these are great value and it’s great to see the prices for international travel coming back down to pre-COVID prices. If I was given the option between paying the cash fare or using my Krisflyer miles to redeem a reward flight, I’d probably opt for the cash fare in some instances.
These are a summary of some of the prices that you can expect (subjective to dates)
Melbourne to Bangkok from $642 return
Sydney to Bangkok from $671 return
Melbourne to Osaka from $713 return
Sydney to Hong Kong from $592 return
Brisbane to Ho Chi Minh City from $683 return
💳 Credit Card Deals
AMEX Explorer has an upsized sign-up bonus promotion running currently. You guys know that this is one of my favourite AMEX cards to hold, so if you’ve been waiting on the sidelines then this might be a good time to apply for it.
100,000 Bonus Points ($4,000 Spend in 3 Months) - increased from 50,000
$400 Travel Credit
$395 Annual Fee
Complimentary Travel Insurance + other benefits
The card essentially becomes cost neutral at worse after taking into account the travel credit that comes along with the card.
But the complimentary travel insurance which is quite comprehensive easily saves you $100 - $200 each time you travel internationally.
Hope you all have a great week ahead!
